Theme: what the story says about life such as sharing leads to caring

Tone: the mood of the story. Is it humorous, sad, ironic etc.
Conflict: the story problem
Protagonist: the main character
Antagonist: the villain
Motivation: why the protagonist or main character is moved to action
Climax: the moment when the story is the most exciting
The conclusion: how the story ends
